NEW YORK, NY, October 11, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Direct from starring in the critically acclaimed production of Don Pasquale at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, baritone Adelmo Guidarelli will be hosting a joyful evening of operatic high jinx at the National Opera Center to celebrate National Opera Week.---
Thomas Hampson chairs National Opera Week, an annual event where organizations and individuals throughout North America engage opera fans, old and new, with hundreds of free events which include everything from backstage tours to flash performances and YouTube contests.
Operation Opera, the award winning hit of the Edinburgh Festival, written by Michael MacKenzie Wills, will be performed one night only at the National Opera Center as part of National Opera Week on Tuesday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m. "It gives me an opportunity to perform a little bit of everything, opera, rock, pop, country, sing with puppets; I even get to do a magic trick and play a lot of musical instruments," said Guidarelli while trying to describe the show. "There's a little something for everyone and it's suited for all ages. When I try to explain the show to people I say it's like a night at the opera and a day with Bugs Bunny on the Warner Brothers lot."
Operation Opera is a hilarious cross between tradition and innovation that's filled with classically performed musical fun. You'll laugh out loud at this edgy, sexy, modern day extravaganza of vintage madness.
G&W Entertainment, producer of Operation Opera, specializes in music and variety entertainment. Our performers have worked in preeminent concert halls, opera houses, and theaters around the world.
