OTTAWA, ON, December 25, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Local company Ottawa Special Events spent the weekend answering the call for additional toys for the Toy Mountain campaign. On Friday evening, Ottawa Special Events brought down their concessionary equipment (theater style popcorn and cotton candy machines) to Canadian Tire (1600 Carling Avenue) and handed out the treats all weekend for a donation to Toy Mountain.

"We had an army of staff donate their time, as well as other event people in Ottawa, come down to help including legendary community supporter Max Keeping" says Michael Wood, co-owner of the event rental company. Wood goes on to say that, "when I had heard that there was an enormous shortage in toys for children aged 10-12, we just had to do something. When we started Ottawa Special Events we wanted the community to feel it belonged to them. When people are in need we all have to help."

The staff at Ottawa Special Events were taking cash and toy donations on the spot to be delivered today to the Toy Mountain warehouse. Every single dollar that was collected was used to purchase brand new toys that will be delivered this afternoon to the Toy Mountain depot.

Ottawa Special Events also teamed up with Costco (Innes Road) this year and delivered over 1000lbs in turkeys and potatoes to the Ottawa Mission. They also partnered with Operation Red Nose, supplying Cotton Candy for those who made the responsible choice.

Ottawa Special Events won the "Best New Business" in 2011 through the Nepean Chamber and were nominated for "Best New Business" in 2011 at the Ottawa Business Awards.
