SAN DIEGO, CA, December 19, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pardee Homes will continue its tradition of holiday giving this year, which reaches out in all of the homebuilder's regional divisions, by making the holidays brighter for others by donating gifts and services to three local organizations. In each region, employees decide where to put available dollars, many adding to the kitty from their own pockets with generous donations of both after-hours time and money.

"Community giving is a core value of Pardee Homes, and while it happens all year, Holiday Giving holds a special place," said Beth Fischer, division president for Pardee Homes' San Diego region. "Lending a hand is especially significant this time of year, and is tremendously rewarding for all of us at Pardee Homes."

Holiday Giving benefits the temporarily homeless, families in crisis, physically or mentally challenged children, and others identified by Pardee's regional offices. Recipients in the 2013 campaign in San Diego include children and homeless mothers and their children.

Pardee's San Diego division has donated 10 bicycles and helmets to be presented to underprivileged children through the BIA Cares Holiday Bike Drive, an annual Building Industry Association fundraiser. The San Diego division is also providing holiday gifts for children at Home Start San Diego. Founded in 1972 as a highly successful national Head Start demonstration project, Home Start provides services to children living in poverty who require immediate, comprehensive solutions to ensure their safety and healthy development. Pardee's remaining holiday giving funds will be presented to HomeAid San Diego for a future project in development for 2014.

"The holiday giving program has become a bright spot in the corporate culture of the company, allowing employees to celebrate the spirit of the season and the company's on going commitment to supporting the communities in which we build," added Fischer. "The giving spirit is alive and well all year at Pardee Homes, but during the holidays, our efforts have special meaning knowing we are helping families and providing gifts for deserving children."

Recipients of the 2013 campaign in the Inland Empire include teens currently living at Olive Crest Inland Community Children's Ranch in Perris. The Inland Empire division chose to help the Olive Crest Children's Ranch with a number of special gifts and surprises for 24 at-risk teens.

In the Los Angeles/Ventura County area, Santa Clarita's Carousel Ranch, the Food Pantry of Santa Clarita Valley and Camarillo's RAIN Transitional Living Center (RAIN TLC), will be the recipient of supplies, gifts and facility improvements donated through the Pardee Holiday Giving Program.

Established in 1921, Pardee Homes is one of the largest building companies in California and recognized for energy-efficient building practices, quality new homes, responsive customer service and dedication to the civic goals of the communities in which it builds. See
