The Youngs, along with sons Marlon Jr., age three, and infant Nathaniel, purchased Plan Four at Trail Ridge, which measures approximately 1,778 square feet with three bedrooms and a loft, two-and-a-half baths and two-bay garage. Homes in the gated Trail Ridge neighborhood currently start in price from $151,950.
"We spent much of the summer looking at foreclosures and even put in bids on a couple, as did dozens of other potential buyers so we never got close to getting a house," said Nichole Young. "And, nothing we saw was exactly what we were hoping for and all needed work before we could more in."
The couple and their real estate agent finally shifted from looking at foreclosure homes to new homes and Trail Ridge was among the first communities they toured.
"We put a deposit down before we left," said Nichole Young. "This matched our needs so much more than anything we had seen previously, and, it was new down to the appliances that were included and we were able to select the flooring."
The couple grew up in the same community in Michigan, only meeting each other while working together in Las Vegas. Marlon is a district director for a wireless communications provider while Nichole is a busy mother to their young sons.
"Another bonus is the community playground and swimming pool," said Marlon Young. "Marlon Jr. spends a lot of energy daily at the play area!"
Located near Durango Drive and Blue Diamond Road in southwest Las Vegas, Trail Ridge features four two-story floorplans and community amenities including a heated swimming pool, tot lot and picnic area available exclusively to residents and their guests.
