Dr. Gerbarg will discuss how to promote optimal wellness for anyone living with PTSD, depression, and anxiety. She will explain how to use the breath, and how mind-body practices can relieve PTSD symptoms, augment the effects of medication, and reduce the amount of medication needed for optimal outcomes.

Dr. Gerbarg is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychiatry at New York Medical College. She graduated from Harvard Medical School and the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. In addition to her clinical practice in Kingston, NY, she provides consultation and facilitates the development of research projects on the health benefits of mind-body practices for recovery from stress, anxiety, PTSD, and mass disasters such at the September 11th World Trade Center attacks, the southeast Asian tsunami, the Horizon Gulf oil spill, war in Sudan, and military personnel.
