    JOHANNESBURG, January 3, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pauline Cunningham, Content Manager TMT (Telecommunications, Multi-Media and Info) for Altech Multimedia (Pty) Ltd, has been named a Worldwide Branding Executive of the Year in Digital Media. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.

Ms. Cunningham has 31 years of professional experience, and, since August 2013, became content manager for an exciting project in new business development at technology giant, Altech Multimedia (Pty) Ltd. With nearly 24 years as head of acquisitions at M-Net, Multichoice and three years as senior vice president at On Digital Media, which is now Starsat, she has established herself as an expert in cross-media acquisitions, content knowledge, industry relationships, scheduling, marketing, negotiation, organizational and strategic management expertise. She is responsible for providing strategic direction for the company on content acquisition in the on-demand space.

Prior to joining Altech Multimedia (Pty) Ltd, Ms. Cunningham worked in print media, at the Sunday Times, as a feature writer and a television, book, and entertainment reviewer. She also has extensive experience in her role as the head of acquisitions for M-Net Channels at Multichoice, which was the first Pan African Pay TV broadcaster. She then left to become senior vice president of content for On Digital Media, who, with a department of 24 people, was responsible for all content acquisitions and third-party channels. Ms. Cunningham prides herself on her intuitive knowledge of what content the market wants. She considers the greatest achievement of her career to be leaving her comfort zone after nearly 24 years to build her career elsewhere with many accomplishments.

Ms. Cunningham feels that her success in this industry can only be attributed to her hard work and determination. Through time and hands-on experience, her skills have evolved exponentially. Starting in print media, Ms. Cunningham was headhunted by the then-new Pay-TV service, M-Net, in 1988. M-Net gave her the opportunity to move into programming acquisitions, which resulted in her attaining a head of acquisitions role within her nearly 24 years with them. She was then offered the role of senior vice president of content at a new Pay TV startup, On Digital Media.

Ms. Cunningham has been recognized for outstanding leadership and achievement as a VIP member of the Stanford Who's Who Black Book. She would like to end her career in five years by successfully launching the new service that she is introducing to the market. She is driven by her desire is to lift the continent with a new technology that will provide on-demand services for all.
