Players are able to manage and create their own online poker leagues and tournaments; using a high-quality platform that equals - and surpasses - the technology of major online poker venues.
Visionary CEO Jeff Amrein saw the need for high-quality online poker leagues when playing in a neighborhood league several years ago. "It was always tough to get everyone together at once. We thought - 'Wouldn't it be easier if we could all show up online once a week.' Once we built this, attendance in our league shot way up."
This new way of playing poker is "an inexpensive way for friends in different area codes to play poker on a regular basis" shares HogWildPoker president Joe Luber. "With the headset feature, you can play with friends anywhere while talking about the way your buddy just busted with pocket kings."
HogWildPoker requires no download and there is no rake. Each league receives their own free website for player stats, pictures and schedules. Pricing is based on the site's unique token system, which rewards players for certain activities. "As examples," said Luber, "if a player wins a game, they win a token. If they invite friends, they receive tokens. You don't pay anything until you run out of tokens, and some players will never run out!"
League creation takes a matter of minutes. The league organizer invites friends to join the league, and then schedules the games. Reminders are sent out automatically, and invitees confirm to play.
Players choose to either show or muck their cards. Cards are face down, and the system indicates when others view their cards. "We feel we've recreated the live experience as closely as possible" said Amrein. "If Joe looks at his cards after the flop, it could mean that he's playing for that flush draw."
The system maintains accurate standings, and the table is laid out in a 3D format that beta-testers preferred over current online table layouts.
"We believe there are poker fans around the world who will love what we've created," said Amrein. "This takes poker in a new direction, and we're excited to launch HogWildPoker Leagues."
