NEW YORK, NY, November 27, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Punzone, the first line of Italian ultra-premium imported organic vodka spirits in the U.S., announced that it is an official partner in Sandy Sunday, a national campaign launched by The Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund to fuel the rebuilding process in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Starting today, it will donate a percentage of the profit from the sale of its Punzone line of spirits to the Staten Island based non-profit.
Consumers and retailers that purchase Punzone now through the end of the year will be supporting those that have been adversely impacted by Hurricane Sandy on the New York City and New Jersey coastlines, including the NYC borough of Staten Island, home to Punzone, The Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund and Staten Island Strong, a grassroots organization funded by The Bini Fund. Staten Island Strong is dedicated to the cleanup and restructuring of the homes devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
From today until the end of the year, consumers can purchase Punzone from a local retailer in the New York or New Jersey area or online at select retail locations via punzone.com. Consumers can also make a direct donation to the foundation via the Punzone website or at www.binifund.org.
"I was raised in Staten Island and started Punzone in my kitchen in Bull's Head. Staten Island is my home and I want to do everything to bring my community back onto its feet after such a devastating storm," said Frank Guerrera, President and Founder of Punzone, Inc. "Even though we are a start-up company, we see nothing more important than giving back to our people and businesses. Staten Island has always supported me, so now it is my turn to help in every way possible especially as the difficult holiday season approaches."
In addition, Punzone will also be participating at a November 28th fundraiser on the Hornblower Infinity, New York City's premier luxury yacht. All proceeds raised at the event will benefit The Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund, and directly benefit the families of Staten Island most severely affected by Hurricane Sandy. Tickets and more information about the event are available by visiting http://bini.ticketleap.com/nysi/.
"The rebuilding of our borough is going to take a long time," said Massimo DiDonna, Co-Founder of The Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund. "We will not rest until it's complete, and with companies like Punzone by our side we'll be able to reach that goal faster."
Punzone, which means 'punch' in Italian, made its debut in New York City and New Jersey in July 2012. It was single handedly brought to market by Frank Guerrera, a New York based Italian-American entrepreneur who had a vision to create an all organic and pure line of Italian vodka. Punzone, which is distributed by MHW Ltd, is comprised of three organic beverages: Punzone Vodka and two Ready-to- Drink vodka cocktails: Punzone Originale and Punzone Lemoncino.
All Punzone products have USDA Organic and EU Organic certifications and are available in multiple on and off premise locations across NYC and NJ including Whole Foods in Red Bank, NJ and Corrado's in Clifton, NJ. In New York City, Brooklyn Wine Exchange, World of Liquor and City Wine Cellar are among several retailers that stock Punzone and can ship nationwide.
