SUNRISE BEACH, MO, March 07, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Drought continues to plague most of the state of Missouri even though the statewide level of precipitation has been good since the beginning of 2013. The continued drought is a serious concern for landowners and preservationists throughout the state and many are looking for creative ways to store water from the rainy season for use during drier months. The need to conserve is reawakening interest in the centuries old techniques of gathering rain water for future use.

"Collecting rain water for use during dry months is something that humans have done for centuries." Said, Omar Galal, with RainReserve. "There are some easy techniques that every householder and landowner can use to ensure they have water for precious vegetables, trees and plants over the summer."

John Walker from RainReserve will be sharing information about rainwater harvesting and rain barrels/ kits at an upcoming meeting of the Lake of the Ozarks Watershed Alliance. Their hope is that the information they share will assist the group in preserving the natural landscaping and watershed value of the lake area even during drought months when water restrictions are in place.

"By planting native mid-western plants and supporting them with rainwater collected by rain barrels we hope to take steps that will help maintain healthy lakes for generations to come." Said, John Walker.

Lake of the Ozarks Watershed Alliance (LOWA) is a dedicated group of residents devoted to the preservations of Ozark's lakes and watersheds. These residents work together with a mission of preserving Missouri's Lakes.

RainReserve is a company dedicated to making high quality and affordable rain collection kits available to the public. In keeping with its conservation mission, RainReserve manufactures and ships these kits with minimal environmental impact. RainReserve is also dedicated to the ongoing improvement of its products and their uses and abilities to preserve water for future use.
