Specialized in asset protection and risk management, Richard Bryan Gittings lends over 15 years of professional experience to Sears Holding Corporation. Now celebrating his second year with the company as a District Loss Prevention Manager, he utilizes his extensive knowledge of loss prevention to coordinate safety programs including worker's compensation and liability for six big box retail locations in Los Angeles. Mr. Gittings resolves internal theft and external shop lifter occurrences and conducts risk assessments. He also works to reduce internal rate loss through the implementation of operational programs and audit compliance.

Prior to joining Sears Holdings Corporation, Mr. Gittings served in the United States Army for over three years on active duty. Mr. Gittings served in the United States Army for a total of 9 years on active duty, reserve and national guard assignments. Following his leave from active duty he joined the Ocean City Police Department in Maryland, where he served as an officer for an additional three years. Mr. Gittings then enrolled in undergraduate courses at Whittier College on a lacrosse scholarship—earning his bachelor's degree in psychology, with a minor in political science, in 1999. He also holds a master of science in criminal justice from the California State University, Long Beach, earned in 2006. His professional affiliations include the Loss Prevention Foundation and the Center for Interviewer Standards and Assessment (CFI).
