NAPLES, FLORIDA, April 9, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Richard Juda, Vice President of Critical Care Services for Intercede Health, Innovative Healthcare Group, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in critical care medicine.

Dr. Juda strives to develop critical care programs within hospitals that take into account patient care with an integration into the business aspects of medicine producing a profitable healthcare model with excellent patient care. He has honed his expertise in critical care medicine over the past 17 years. Dr. Juda brings his experience and skill to his role as vice president of critical care services for Intercede Health, a trusted medical management company. His role primarily entails consulting administration at Bethesda Memorial Hospital regarding staffing, equipment, purchasing, billing, and other areas. He also provides private consulting through Innovative Healthcare Group for hospitals and physician groups in order to improve their profitability in an economically challenging medical economy. He has worked with numerous hospitals and critical care systems improving their profitability.

Prior to working in this capacity, Dr. Juda developed a critical care core group that allowed all department heads in the Intensive Care Unit to collaborate in order to improve services, cut resource waste, and cut costs overall for critical care. He also devised a business plan for hospital billables in critical care which resulted in consistent ICU revenue growth over a three-year period. Further accomplishments include forming intensivist-led, multi-disciplinary ICU teams, which resulted in improving patient care and decreasing morbidity-mortality rates. He developed evidence-based guidelines, protocols and standardized order sets, which resulted in improving patient care and efficiency in the ICU. Dr. Juda also designed process and outcome measurement solutions which increased patient through-put from other areas of the hospital, alleviating delays in moving patients from the emergency, operating room and other areas within hospital systems.

In addition, Dr. Juda understands that critical care response starts before a patient is admitted to a hospital. He works as an associate emergency medical services director for the North Naples Fire Department to train EMS workers to respond to critical care calls more aggressively, thus improving a patients' outcome once admitted to the hospital, and reducing the need for admittance to critical care. Dr. Juda has also worked to develop aeromedical transport systems in order to facilitate the emergent transport of the critically ill by expertly trained flight crews to tertiary care facilities. He attributes his success to his wife, family, fortitude and continuing education.

Dr. Juda earned an MD from St. George's University in 1996. He went on to complete a surgical internship and a surgical - anesthesia residency at the University of Connecticut followed by a fellowship in Critical Care at Yale School of Medicine. His specialty board certifications include anesthesiology as well as neurocritical care. His professional affiliations include the American College of Physician Executives, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the Neurocritical Care Society. He has also held clinical faculty appointments at University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Tufts University School of Medicine, NOVA University and Florida Atlantic University. He was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding in recognition of his accomplishments, and he has also been named among the "Leading Physicians of the World."
