/24-7PressRelease/ -- Jeremy Richey, 31, will seek the Republican nomination for the 2012 state's attorney's race in Moultrie County. Richey is a former assistant state's attorney in Coles County. He is a criminal trial lawyer with a practice concentrating in criminal, DUI and traffic defense.
Richey was approached by Moultrie County Republican Chairman Dave McCabe, along with other Moultrie County Republicans, about running in Moultrie County. Richey also has the support of Illinois State Representative Adam Brown whose district includes Moultrie County. "I greatly enjoyed my job as an assistant state's attorney in Coles County and I am excited about the possibility of prosecuting cases again," Richey stated.
Richey grew up in Ashmore, IL and is a graduate of Charleston High School, Lake Land College (A.A.S), Greenville College (B.S.), and Southern Illinois University School of Law (J.D.). Richey's office and residence is located in Charleston. He plans to move to Moultrie County if elected.
Richey graduated in the top ten percent of his class at Southern Illinois University School of Law. During law school, he was also an articles editor for the Southern Illinois University Law Journal. He sits on the section council for the Illinois State Bar Association's Traffic Law and Courts Section. He also instructs other lawyers on traffic and DUI issues at Illinois State Bar Association continuing legal education conferences.
