Mr. McKenzie and his wife are very active in the operations of the business, and volunteer for Stable Strides Farm, which provides therapeutic riding instruction at their center. They started the business because of the many benefits associated with therapeutic riding for people with disabilities. While doing research to learn about Down Syndrome they became aware of the benefits of therapeutic riding and felt that it could help their son. When the property became available, they purchased it, and have not looked back since. Currently, Stable Strides Farm provides riding instruction to over 50 riders with a broad spectrum of disabilities and their hunter/jumper riding program has over 60 riders taking lessons and attending competitions.
Mr. McKenzie has developed and strengthened his current business experiences through the skills and leadership techniques that he has learned throughout the beginning of his career. He had a 23-year-career in merchandising with GameStop and its affiliates. For the last eight years in merchandising, he served as the senior vice president of the department. His team of 25 employees purchased, allocated and managed the replenishment of more than $4.5 billion in video game merchandise.
