ASBURY PARK, NJ, January 04, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The musical home of Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band has a new rock 'n' roll resident - a bakery that fuses a playlist of your favorite tunes with a menu of delectable treats.

Confections of a Rock$tar recently opened its stage doors in Asbury Park, New Jersey to fans with a sweet tooth, featuring musically inspired cakes, cookies and cupcakes - a Red (velvet) Carpet cupcake, a Brown-Eyed Girl (salted fudge caramel) brownie and a Tunnel of Love cannoli. Autographed photos of rock stars and other memorabilia adorn the hot pink walls while rock music plays in the background.

"There is no other bakery like it," says artist and Rock$tar owner Kimmee Masi. "Sure we make great tasting cakes with the best ingredients, but we offer a one-of-a-kind experience, whether it's autographing our "wall of fame" to enjoying the music memorabilia adorning the walls."

A rock drummer since the age of 4, Kimmee grew up in her dad's bakery, Vincent's Cookie Cupboard (Manalapan and Freehold, NJ) where she learned how to make homemade breads and desserts. She and her father dreamed of one day opening a bakery together after she retired from music. Sadly, Kimmee's father passed away in 2006.

When her aspirations to become a rock n' roll star faded, Kimmee traded in her daytime gig of Customer Service Manager at New Jersey insurance company and figured it was time to combine her passion for music with her father's baking talent.

Confections of a Rock$tar debuted nationally when it was featured on the Food Network's "3 Days to Open with Bobby Flay". The bakery features 16 cupcake varieties with new ones added regularly, all with musical themes. A fan favorite, "Don't Be Cruel," a banana cake with peanut butter frosting and topped with honey dipped bacon is a nod to Elvis and his favorite foods, Kimmee says.

Besides cupcakes, the specialty bake shop serves gluten-free French macarons ranging from pistachio to peanut butter and jelly, brownies, cookies, pies and of course traditional layer and designer cakes. All products are baked fresh daily on premises.

Kimmee has played in many rock bands throughout New Jersey, including her current gig as the drummer and one of the managers for Our Last Sin. Her sweet treats have been served at Mob Wives, Bad Girls Club and Jersey Shore celebrity events.

"Everyone wants to be a rock star at some point in their life," she says. "At our bakery, they can get a taste of the experience."

Confections of a Rock$tar is located at 550 Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey. For more information, visit http://www.COARock.com.
