/Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Romeo R. Galang, a student at the University of Rochester Medical Center, has been recognized by
Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of healthcare.
Mr. Galang specializes in maternal and child health care and is responsible for caring for patients and managing health care operations. In addition to being a student, he interviews medical school applicants, reviews creative literature for publication, and volunteers at St. Joseph's Neighborhood Center for patients without insurance coverage. After being inspired by an 8-year-old boy who was dying from kidney disease, Mr. Galang decided to enter medical school and provide care to children with disability and their families. He attributes his success to the support of his family, friends and advisors.
Mr. Galang received his Master of Public Health with a dual concentration in Maternal and Child Health and Epidemiology in 2006. He serves on the medical school Honor Board and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. He aspires to lead public health initiatives, to conduct clinical research, and to become a professor in medicine and ethics.
