New Ruby group invites developers from Eastern to Western Massachusetts to participate in an open community for networking, learning and discussing all things Ruby.

FRAMINGHAM, MA, April 09, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Today a new group launches to connect Ruby on Rails developers from Eastern to Western Massachusetts. The Route 9 Ruby Group provides Ruby enthusiasts from Metrowest, Central Mass, North Shore, South Shore, and Western Mass with an open community for networking, learning, and discussing all things Ruby. The group brings together new and experienced users of the popular programming language for rich discussions, exciting events, and group hackfests.

The Route 9 Ruby Group fills a void for developers who live and work outside of Boston and finally provides Rubyists in the area with an active community to call their own. Rubyists of all levels are welcome to join the group. Events will be hosted at the Framingham office of the group's lead sponsor, Punchbowl, Inc., developers of the party planning and digital greeting cards site, Punchbowl.com.

Developers can join the Route 9 Ruby Group to:
- Connect with other developers who are passionate about Ruby
- Participate in workshops and hackfests
- Attend events to hear from a variety of Ruby speakers
- Learn about job opportunities and potential employment

"We want to encourage an environment for open discussion and partnership between Ruby programmers," said Darren Torpey, lead organizer of the Route 9 Ruby Group. "The goal is to provide a collaboration for experts who work on Ruby every day and those just starting out with the programming language."
