/Cambridge Who's Who/ - Summerville, GA, June 22, 2008, Roxie Weesner, Executive Director of The Well at Chattooga, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of public service.

Ms. Weesner has been involved in her industry for the past three years, during which she has developed an expertise in helping homeless women and children. On a daily basis she is responsible for overseeing random drug testing of women, caring for children, handling imbursement of medication to women, and accompanying women to doctoral appointments. She has also worked as a bible study teacher and attributes her success to her faith in God.

In 1972, Ms. Weesner graduated from Chattooga High School and became a full time employee of the Farmers and Merchants Bank. She worked as a bookkeeper for 11 years and as a teller for 10 years. She married Larry Weesner in 1988. They adopted a son, James Weesner, in 1993 at which time, she retired from the Farmers and Merchants Bank to become a full-time mom.

In 2005, Ms. Weesner felt compelled to serve as the executive director for The Well at Chattooga, Inc., a shelter for women and children. For the past three and a half years, she has worked closely with her assistant directors in serving Chattooga County and the surrounding counties by providing a safe refuge for the growing number of homeless woman and children. There have already been over 60 plus woman who have come who have been helped by the company since 2003. Ms. Weesner feels the reasons for homelessness are many and often complex and that the door to opportunity has closed for many of the homeless. While there is no average 'homeless' individual, there is one thing they all have in common; they are waiting for the door to open. At The Well at Chattooga, Inc., the homeless find refuge in the form of a safe, warm place to sleep and find nonjudgmental people who truly care about them.

The Well at Chattooga, Inc., a 501 3 organization, assists residents in searching for housing, jobs, counseling and treatment; and to foster the resident's growth toward independence and responsibility. The company depends entirely on donations from churches and private individuals for support.
