NEWCASTLE, ENGLAND, January 22, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/
-- This fall, Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez began his studies at Newcastle University, working toward his Master's in Clinical Dentistry in Restorative Dentistry. Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez, a registered dentist in the United Kingdom, decided to leave his practice after five years and return to school in order to earn a degree in his greatest interest: restorative dentistry. When he finishes this program in the fall of 2015, Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez will start a new phase in his career, focusing on restorative and adhesive dentistry.
For five years, Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez has been working as a dentist in Great Britain. Before moving to the British Isles, Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez
studied at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, receiving his Bachelor's in Dentistry. Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez worked a couple of years at practices in London while simultaneously earning his postgraduate certificate in aesthetic dentistry from Eastman Dental Institute.
Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez moved to Newcastle on Tyne in 2012 to work at Indental Practice. This was a stepping stone toward attending Newcastle University, as it allowed Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez to observe the school and get to know some of the professors before committing to the program. Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez was pleased with what he saw, subsequently applied, and was accepted to the MClinDent program.
"The professors here at Newcastle are so passionate about what they are teaching," Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez
declared, "It makes for an inspiring classroom. I could see that already while just a dentist working in the area."
Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez's interest in restorative dentistry began before moving to Newcastle. There had been a glimmer of it while he was still in Madrid, but it was in the early years of his career that the interest fully presented itself. This is when Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez earned his certification in aesthetic dentistry, a related area of dental study to restorative dentistry. So after receiving his certificate in 2011, Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez has been working toward going back to school for full time study.
Restorative dentistry, while not involved in new dental procedures, has only fairly recently been recognized as a separate field of specialty. This area of dentistry focuses on the restoration of teeth after tooth decay or any sort of oral disease or injury. Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez
finds it a remarkable area of the field because of its ability to turn people's lives around.
"We take our smiles for granted until we are missing them," Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez said, "People who have suffered from tooth loss value their smiles more and are seeking ways to regain them -- and with their smiles, their confidence. We are far more confident when we know that our smiles are pleasing. Restorative dentistry gives me the opportunity to give people their confidence back, and that's a wonderful thing to see."
Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez
will complete his program in 2015. After this, Ruben Calvo Parra Martinez intends to remain here in Great Britain and set up practice once more.About:
