USA Honor Society
BESSEMER, MI, October 2, 2009
/24-7PressRelease/ -- Rudolf R. Karliner, an engineer and inventor, has been recognized by USA Honor Society for his talents and professional achievements.
With more than 30 domestic and foreign patents, and 48 years of engineering experience, Rudolf R. Karliner attributes his success to the inspiration he received from his former professors and mentors in the USA, and having the opportunity to meet other great mentors. He immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1960, and obtained a position as an Engineer-in-Training with the International Harvester Co., at the research and development center in Hinsdale, Ill. He began progressing through the ranks with several other companies, and in 1974, he became the vice president of research and development and a shareholder, and was appointed to serve on the board of directors.
In 1978, Mr. Karliner was recruited by Wagner Spray Tech Co. as the vice president of engineering and all related responsibilities including: quality control, product liability and patent matters. He also became a member of the operating board. Wagner Spray Tech Co. is well-known for the development of high-pressure airless paint sprayers and paint sundries.
In 1986, Mr. Karliner established his own company, and designed his own patented product line as the owner and president. He decided to sell the company in 1994, and enjoyed the good life of retirement until he was contracted by a friend in 1995 to work as the vice president of research and development of Aeration Industries International to develop an innovative product line for the wastewater industry. Their existing product line was outdated, which in turn caused sales to plummet to the point of no return. Mr. Karliner looked forward to the challenge and accepted the position. Within six to eight months, he invented and patented a slow-moving actuator that doubled the oxyden and transfer rate, and reduced operating costs by 50 percent. He simultaneously worked on making the present product line more efficient in power consumption.
Mr. Karliner retired from the aeration industry in 2002, and being the sole inventor of four wastewater patents, received a one-year, full-time contract, for the purpose of having a smooth transition period. He holds a master's equivalent degree in engineering, which he received through the Career Transitions Center of Chicago. He attributes his success to his hard work and dedication, and is proud to have created thousands of jobs throughout his career and made contributions toward a better environment. He is also extremely proud of having become an American citizen in 1977.
