Shirley Taylor Moore brings 24 years of experience as a music teacher and singer to prestigious independent school

With 24 years of experience in music, Shirley Taylor Moore has enjoyed a fruitful career as both teacher and performer. Noted for her expertise in voice instruction and operatic singing, she directs choruses and conducts music classes for fourth- to seventh-graders at St. Albans, a prestigious independent school. This she does in addition to offering private voice lessons to teenagers and adults. Also sought-after as a singer, Ms. Moore performs operatic music in concerts throughout the region. She considers performing the award winning song cycle "Llanto Azul" written by her late husband, Dr. William Moore and premiered in Canary Islands, Spain and in the United States at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC among the highlights of her career. She attributes her success to her focus, passion for music, and commitment to keeping her skills sharp through continuous performance and study.

In addition to completing training in music and voice performance, Ms. Moore earned a bachelor of arts in speech pathology and psychology in 1966 from Hunter College. She is a member of the Friday Morning Music Club and the Institute for Musical Arts in Florida and New York. Ms. Moore looks forward to performing more and expanding her private classes.
