    BALTIMORE, MARYLAND, September 6, 2012 /Worldwide Who's Who/ -- Shoshana Sondra Shamberg, OTR/L, MS, FAOTA, president of Abilities OT Services, Inc. and the Irlen Visual Learning Center, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in health care consulting services.

Ms. Shamberg has over 35 years of experience in occupational therapy, special education, and health care consulting services. Her areas of expertise include home modifications and worksite assessments. She is responsible for providing individual and group therapy, special education and assistive technology consulting, disability advocacy services, and continuing education via international seminar presentations. She is a nationally recognized leader in occupational therapy, accessibility consulting, Brain Gym instruction, and the Irlen Diagnostic Services. She is adept at ADA Compliance and serves as an expert witness and AOTA representative to the ANSI 117.2 Accessible Design Committee.

Ms. Shamberg has served as a contract therapist for many hospitals and in educational settings, including as an employee of Baltimore City Public Schools. She has maintained a private practice in Baltimore, MD for over 24 years, with an international client base both via the Internet and on-site. Ms. Shamberg WAS chosen as a featured speaker at the Irlen International Conference in Belo Horizonte Brazil in July 2012, and as a featured speaker at the Brain Gym International Conference in Ft. Collins, CO in August 2012. Both conferences bring together participants from more than 25 countries around the world for sharing research, information, and networking.

Ms. Shamberg attributes her success to her dedication, passion, quality, innovation, creativity, determination, formal education, life experience, supportive family and friends, and extensive specialized training. She wanted a profession that involved integrative medicine, holistic approaches, creativity, flexibility, independence, and the opportunity to help others help themselves. She had mentors and much life experience guiding her to her present occupation. Her passion for advocacy, people with disabilities and wellness helped mold the focus of her business.

Ms. Shamberg holds a master of science in special education from John Hopkins University and a bachelor of science in occupational therapy and art from Colorado State University. She is a licensed and registered occupational therapist, a Licensed Brain Gym instructor and a certified Irlen Diagnostician. She was awarded the highest honor an occupational therapist can receive by the American Occupational Therapy Association as a member of the Roster of Fellows (FAOTA). She is also a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association; the Maryland OT Association; RESNA; Brain Gym International; Irlen/PDC International; the Pikesville Chamber of Commerce; the Better Business Bureau of MD; and the Jewish Entrepreneur Network.

She has received Exemplary Service recognition from AOTA, the Exemplary Service Award from MOTA; and her private practice was designated as a best practice by Merion Publications. She was recognized as the 2012-2013 Professional of the Year Representing Health Care Consulting from Who's Who Publishers. In five years, Ms. Shamberg aims to transition to greater participation in advocacy for special education and independent living services internationally, as well as, teaching many more seminars via the Internet through webinars. This year she is expanding her Irlen and Wellness Clinic services and has opened additional clinics at the world renowned amen clinic in Reston, Va. and in Omaha, Neb. in addition to the present location in Baltimore, Md.
