NEW YORK, NY, September 29, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mr. Rocky Zhang, International Business Development Manager for Siemens Industry Inc., was the featured speaker at the recent New York Chapter of the US China Business Connections' event. Mr. Zhang is among the prominent executives, business leaders and authors invited to address the group in a series entitled "Leaders and Luminaries." ---
Mr. Zhang outlined the keys to better understand how to develop business opportunities in the Chinese market. He shared Siemens Industries' history and on-the-ground experiences on doing business in China for over 140 years. To date, Siemens has established 16 R&D centers, 73 operating companies and 65 regional offices in China, which demonstrates its long-standing cooperation with China as a partner.
"My presentation evoked several engaging questions about how American businesspeople can work with Siemens and how to expand their enterprises to include China. There was considerable interest in this topic and I wanted to draw on my experience to provide information on how best to do business in China. China is the Siemens second biggest overseas market after the United States," Mr. Zhang said.
Mr. Zhang serves on the Board of Directors of the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce, Northeast Chapter. He has an extensive involvement in international businesses. He has earned respect for his expertise in energy technologies and efficiencies in the oil and gas industry and has authored several articles related to these topics. He is called upon to speak as an expert at conventions and conferences. For example, at the Alaska Pipeline Leak Detection Conference in 2011, he presented on "Siemens FUS-LDS Leak Detection System."
Mr. Zhang resides on Long Island. His office is located in the Hauppauge Industrial Park. At Siemens he is responsible for the business and product development of field instrumentation technology. Siemens is a leading supplier of product solutions and services, and employs 370,000 people worldwide including over 55,000 in United States and 30,000 in China. Siemens focuses on four business areas: energy, e.g. power generation and transmission; industry, e.g. industry automation and electrical engineering; medical, e.g. medical devices such as MRT, CT and hearing aids, and infrastructure/cities, e.g. building automation and rail system-medium to high speed trains.
Before joining Siemens, Mr. Zhang was General Manager with Chemtex China responsible for licensing petrochemical technologies for DuPont, Cytec and others. His education is in engineering and finance.
