-- Sonia Aggelakis, Human Resources Director for Aon, has been recognized by Worldwide Branding for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in human resources.
With more than 15 years of experience in human resources, Ms. Aggelakis has honed her ability to build relationships with clients and ensure that her initiatives fit their needs. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, change management, talent acquisition and retention, and due diligence and integration relating to mergers and acquisitions. She also possesses extensive experience in organizational management and the implementation of diverse and strategic HR initiatives.
Ms. Aggelakis assumed the role of HR director for Aon last year after spending five and a half years in the Middle East as the director of HR for AECOM. Her role at Aon primarily entails supporting an executive team directly covering all eastern Canada locations and 10 national practice groups. She oversees overall workforce management, compensation management, and performance management and reviews. She also supports a client group for the company, which is a leading provider of risk management, insurance, human resources, and outsourcing services. Furthermore, Ms. Aggelakis does public speaking and training both internally and at leadership conferences overseas.
After earning an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, Ms. Aggelakis earned a Master of Science in human resource management and development from the University of Leicester. She began her human resources career in banking and has progressed in the field ever since. A member of Who's Who in HR, Ms. Aggelakis intends to take on more global assignments while remaining open to different opportunities in the coming years.
