-- Spring/Summer 2013 PAUL & JOE men's collection pays homage to the photographer Peter Beard and his passion for Africa. Sophie Mechaly invites us to escape to the continent and admire the great outdoors.
The collection transports us through Africa on an adventure reminiscent of a Kipling novel. In his Jeep the Paul & Joe man takes on the wilderness in a chunky knit cardigan paired with shorts or turned up trousers in light cotton. His silk scarf and poplin shirt add a dandy twist to his attire. Pacing up and down the local markets, he can be spotted amongst the stalls of spices wearing a printed shirt and matching trousers.
Back at the lodge he slips into jackets made of the finest fabrics. The remaining pieces of his look are created in Egyptian cotton, linen or even light jersey. The colours he has chosen to adorn himself with are reminiscent of the landscape which surrounds him: camel, beige, white and fawn.
For the evening like a chic adventurer he is wearing nothing but a simple light suit and printed shirt or tee. His elegance is brightened with tribal hues: Tuareg blue, Fulani golden yellow, Massai red or Zulu rose tinted ivory.
For the second collection of P.J. the younger range goes back to the signature styles of the Paul & Joe brand: shirts in oversized check prints, printed jackets and shorts covered in flowers. There are multiple references to the African journey through tribal art and wild flowers.
Paul & Joe wish would like to invite you to escape to a far away land for a Spring Summer 2013 full of wonders.
