Successful Author Looks to the Internet

    CALVERTON, NY, October 16, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After publishing 53 books with such well-established giants as Random House and HarperCollins, author Cynthia Baxter is publishing her 54th, a psychological suspense novel entitled The Housesitter, with a new type of publisher: one that markets books solely on the Web.

"Amazon and iTunes are in, bookstores are out," says Baxter, who currently writes mysteries and suspense but has also published women's fiction and young adult novels under the name Cynthia Blair. And for some reason, traditional publishers just aren't keeping up."

Dark Corridors

Baxter's new publisher, Dark Corridors, is marketing The Housesitter through Amazon, iTunes, and Barnes & Noble, leaving out the middleman of a bookstore. The book has also received most of its rave reviews online, mainly on websites that are popular with readers of the mystery and suspense genres.
