VAUCLUSE, NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA, October 24, 2012 /Worldwide Who's Who/ -- Susan Dinley, the Principal and Director of ABC Rehab, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in providing quality occupational therapy consultation and rehabilitation services.

Utilizing a step-by-step building block approach to ensure the effectiveness of its occupational therapy treatments, ABC Rehab strives to provide patients with customised programs designed to foster rehabilitation, improve the quality of life and minimise the impact of their injury or illness on their lives. Traveling regularly within NSW, interstate and overseas to assess the sometimes complex needs of clients, ABC Rehab is committed to meeting the standards of assessment, report writing and accountability that are required in the consulting environment.

ABC Rehab understands the importance of treating each patient as an individual who requires a personalized assessment, case management and treatment intervention plan. The company's services span government and private sectors and include assessments, interventions, CTP Management & Medico-legal Assessments for clients such as Department of Veterans' Affairs, Comcare, Lifetime Care & Support, WorkCover, insurance companies, legal offices, hospitals and community services. ABC Rehab also provides onsite assessments and recommendations for attendant care, treatment, equipment and environmental modifications covering a range of disabilities for clients in the community who require advice at home, work, in residential care facilities and in public areas.

An internationally recognized occupational therapist specializing in advice and the treatment of amputee, brain injury, quadriplegic and paraplegic patients, Susan Dinley has served in her current capacity as the principal and director of ABC Rehab for the past 23 years. Drawing on nearly 30 years of professional experience, she is well suited to manage all patient cases and treatments, as well as supervise and train her subcontractors and liaise with key stakeholders, which include government officials, patients and medical personnel. Ms. Dinley is also often requested to advise many legal companies about therapeutic processes for different diseases and injuries.

Actively involved in providing customised private rehabilitation treatments, Ms. Dinley assists patients in metropolitan and country areas across Australia and provides her expertise in helping international cases. Due to her exceptional industry knowledge, she is a regular industry panel member for ten leading organizations and is often requested to provide presentations at key industry conferences including: RSSH Amputee Conference, ACRM Conference, NSW OT Association Conference and World OT Conference.

With extensive experience in numerous clinical areas, including providing rehabilitation and treatment services to persons suffering from catastrophic injuries, Ms. Dinley completed her post graduate training at Royal South Sydney Hospital, where she remained for five years. In the mid 1980s, she was one of three occupational therapists chosen by the Head of School at the University of Sydney to participate in the inaugural honorary Masters in Occupational Therapy program and to travel with the Paralympic team to Korea in 1988. She then worked until 1994 in the In-Charge Occupational Therapy position at St. George Hospital, after which she was promoted to the hospital executive position, Acting Director of Allied Health services, for the Area Health Service. During the years she spent working in State Health, Ms. Dinley also directed ABC Rehab.

As a follow up to research she coordinated in the late 1980s, Ms. Dinley, in conjunction with the Head of Royal South Sydney Hospital, also developed and initiated a new holistic approach to the Australian hospital healthcare system. Her concept, The Early Discharge Program & Transitional Home Care Package, aimed to combat what she felt the health care industry was lacking: the philosophy of transitional care. Bringing her idea to the point of national recognition, Ms. Dinley was determined to take the pressure off the hospital system and the need for beds by relocating patients back into their homes faster. Her biggest priority was to do so while providing patients with the appropriate care to sustain them well in their own homes. Ms. Dinley's persistence paid off, as her innovations are now standard practice in all Australian hospitals. Her work also opened up opportunities for the Allied Health industry and its practitioners who became critically important to patients needing in-home consultant care upon returning to their homes for recuperation.

Planning to pursue a Ph.D. in the near future, Ms. Dinley holds a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Sydney, and post graduate qualifications and certifications in lymphoedema, home modifications, driving and lower limb amputations. Further to these, Ms. Dinley has completed more than 75 professional OT industry development courses. An active member of the professional community, she has produced and consulted for Patient Care booklets on hip replacements, back care and knee replacements. Ms. Dinley belongs to Occupational Therapy Australia Ltd. and has received many awards for service in Occupational Therapy including one from NSW State Health and another from the Dept. of Veterans' Affairs for co-ordination of a key research document. Ms. Dinley often volunteers her time working with a variety of industry panels, and has served as an expert witness in the NSW District and Supreme Courts.

Ms. Dinley is a proud, married mother of three children and enjoys watching musical theater and movies in her free time.
