Swan Learning Center Equips Parents and the Community Through New Workshops

The Swan Learning Center announces new learning workshops focused on the community and parents. The workshops help parents and community leaders learn ways to help their children succeed.

CHARLOTTE, NC, March 20, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Swan Learning Center understands that successful students require more than just quality tutoring. Successful students require supportive parents and a supportive community. That's the idea behind the recently launched community, school and student workshops.

The Swan Learning Center offers 30-minute to two-hour seminars designed to help parents learn the strategies they need to better equip their children to succeed in school and in the community. The first, Homework Without Tears, teaches parents practical tips they can use to make "homework hour" less stressful in their homes. The seminar looks at all types of students, from the needy student to the perfectionist, and helps parents create strategies to make homework less stressful.

Parenting with a Cool Head and Warm Heart aims to give parents the tools they need to lovingly discipline their children at home, which will ultimately lead to better behavior and performance in school.

Finally, the Swan Learning Center also offers Volunteer Training. These seminars equip parents and other members of the community to volunteer their time as tutors within the school system.

When asked about the seminars, a spokesperson for the Swan Learning Center said, "At Swan, we do everything we can to give kids the tools they need for success, but that success also requires parental involvement. With these seminars, we give our parents the tools they need as well."
