JACKSONVILLE, FL, December 05, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The employees at Tax Defense Network hold close to heart the mission to help people struggling with tax debt. For most TDN employees, the best part of their job is the opportunity to help taxpayers in need. This holiday season, this desire to help others is extended to the local Jacksonville area's less fortunate children: Tax Defense Network is excited to be a Toys for Tots drop-off site and to assist the United States Marine Corps in its holiday mission to deliver gifts to less fortunate children.

The Toys for Tots Foundation is a charitable organization that collects and distributes toys to less fortunate children during the holiday season. Operated by the Marine Corps Reserve, each local division collects and distributes toys in its own community. Toys for Tots was founded in 1948 with the goal to deliver a message of hope, through a present during the holiday season, to less fortunate children across the country in hopes that it will contribute to them becoming responsible, productive citizens; and thus contributing to better communities in the future.

Marine Corps Reserve Units send out boxes around their local area for people to place new and unwrapped toys. Tax Defense Network's box, sits in their office's front foyer and is already half-full of presents for children in the Jacksonville Florida area contributed by employees, as well as TDN's neighbors on Sutton Park Drive.

A father of three, Joe Valinho, President of Tax Defense Network, knows how special the holiday season is for children. "Of course we'd take every opportunity to give a little extra happiness to under-privileged children. The holidays are about giving and this time of year is so important to kids. Toys for Tots is a fantastic way for us as a company to come together and give back to the community we live in."

A child at heart, Joe confesses himself to be a little bit jealous of the lucky child who receives an Avengers themed Lego set donated by a TDN employee.

According the Toys for Tots Foundation website, the program has distributed over 469 million toys to over 216 million less fortunate children. Tax Defense Network is proud to have the opportunity to add to that number as well as to play an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable resources, our children.
