HOUSTON, TX, March 18, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Flexitank technology company Environmental Packaging Technologies, Ltd. (EPT), will donate sixty BIG Red Flexitanks to aid Haitian earthquake survivors. The gift will be made through a major international peace organization.

The Flexitanks will be used for static storage. Flexitanks provide bulk packaging solutions for transportation and storage of non-hazardous liquids. Each flexitank can hold 6,000 gallons (22,700 liters) of liquid.

"EPT is proud to help. We are passionate about the importance of being active global citizens," said Nancy Wendrock, president of Houston-based EPT (www.eptpac.com). "We are inspired by the work being done to help the Haitian people in the aftermath of this devastating event."

Wendrock said the sixty flexitanks, which represent a $50,000 in-kind donation, will serve Haitian earthquake victims as static ground storage. She said the flexitanks can be used as receptacles for:

- Fresh drinking water. Flexitank polyethylene inner liners are FDA-approved as food-safe and water-safe.
- Diesel fuel to power generators for hospitals, schools, churches and other buildings
- Sanitation purposes for hospitals and other public buildings to contain sewage

Wendrock said EPT is grateful that New York based Genencor, a division of DANISCO, has agreed to donate the $2,500 transportation cost for the flexitanks to be transported to the Dominican Republic. From there, the relief organization will ship them to their ultimate destination in Haiti.
