STATESVILLE, NC, December 04, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- TharpeRobbins is known as a global leader in the managed employee reward and recognition industry, but the company also believes in the value of recognizing the needs of the less fortunate. Recently, during its Employee Appreciation Week, employees went all out to help those in need. ---
"Throughout the year, each location leaves out boxes to collect food items," says Dottie Cronin, TharpeRobbins human resource manager. "But, this year we asked employees to donate either food items or cash each day of our Employee Appreciation Week, resulting in almost 900 food items and nearly $300."
"We are so proud of our employees for stepping up and making a difference for those in need," says Cronin. "With the cash that was collected during Employee Appreciation Week we were able to purchase food like pasta, canned vegetables, and cereal for the Hebron Food Pantry in Attleboro."
For more than a decade, the Attleboro campus of TharpeRobbins has been proud to collect toys for Christmas Is For Kids sponsored by the Attleboro Area Council for Children. The group is dedicated to providing year-round programs and educational support to enrich the lives of nearly 1,000 children in need in the Attleboro area.
For the fifth year in a row, employees at the Statesville, N.C. location are collecting toys for the local Salvation Army. And, the Statesville campus raised $6006.56 this year for the United Way without a formal campaign. The twenty-two agencies of the United Way of Iredell County, N.C. are very thankful for this donation.
Starting this month, all vendor gifts that come in to both the North Carolina and Massachusetts locations will be auctioned and the money will be donated to local charities.
"Recognition is important both internally among our employees and externally within the local community," says Susan Tolle, senior vice president of talent at TharpeRobbins. "We get quite a few vendor gifts during the holiday season. We are proud to say that our employees decided to auction the gifts to raise money to help those in need."
