-- The Chef's Academy (http://www.thechefsacademy.com), the Culinary Division of Harrison College, a 110-year-old, nationally accredited institution that offers 40 degree programs in five schools of study, has announced that the school will host its annual Chili Cook-off on Friday, Feb. 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 644 East Washington Street in Indianapolis. Teams of three students each will go head-to-head in a battle for the title of The Chef's Academy Chili Champion. Students will begin preparing their chili at 8:30 a.m., with the dishes ready for public tasting and judging at 11:30 a.m.
Attendees can sample all of the entries for a single $5 donation, with proceeds benefitting Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending hunger in 21 counties in central and southeastern Indiana.
"Our students are ready to spice up the competition with their culinary talents and showcase their skills to the Indianapolis community," said Ryon Kaopuiki, Indianapolis campus president for The Chef's Academy. "We hope to assist Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana in their mission to combat hunger by providing a meal that will inspire our attendees to help others. At The Chef's Academy, we are dedicated to excellence in both culinary and community pursuits, and we love when we can combine the two."
