LAS VEGAS, November 14, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- When Joe Cada won the World Series of Poker Main Event this week, two-time world champion Phil Hellmuth called him the luckiest player ever winning the big one. This was a bold statement. Doesn't every WSOP winner seem to be lucky? To see if Hellmuth is right we decided to go back in history and evaluate every final hand in the Main Event.

When just examining the final hands, Doyle Brunson is probably the luckiest player ever. In 1976, when Brunson sat with his classic ten-deuce he was a 65% underdog pre-flop, 86% underdog on the flop, and when the money went in on the turn, he was 90% behind. Yet he managed to win the Main Event.

At PokerJunkie.com you can see videos and read comments about all the final hands in World Series of Poker. Perhaps Joe Cada won't be viewed as just a lucky player in the future, just a player skilled enough to win the most coveted title in the world of poker.
