/24-7PressRelease/ - Manahawkin, NJ, August 27, 2008 - The launch of the first ever Online Rotating Billboard (theonlinebillboard.com), a site which allows users to advertise their websites "virtually anywhere in the world." The site creator explains, "The idea was to create an online billboard that's similar to a billboard found on highways, but instead allowing users to advertise their websites to promote their goods/services. The only requirement of advertising on the "The Online Billboard" is a website URL, and a billboard image (520x170 pixels max)."
The gimmick is being able to "advertise virtually anywhere in the world," which gives the site staying power. You can choose a designated location that you want to advertise in, for example: Times Square, NYC, OR you can choose to "advertise all over the world," in which case your billboard will be viewed at any of the billboard locations currently on the site. Also, If you don't see a location that you would want to advertise in, you can suggest a new location and one will be created rather quickly.
Advertising your company on the billboard could mean insurmountable amounts of traffic to your website over the course of the year (the cost is only $10 USD/per year of unlimited exposure/clicks). In the member control panel, you also have the ability to view how effective your Billboard is by seeing how many impressions and clicks, as well as the Last View, and Last Click. There are currently 8 billboard's up and running. It only takes a few minutes to register, and you can upload and activate your billboard instantly. The entire registration process only takes about 2 minutes.
In the future the site creator's plan is to put large LCD monitors in physical locations with high traffic (possibly in some of the locations which are currently being displayed on the site), which will generate even more leads, and allow the advertisers another method of advertising (with no additional cost). The site owner explains, "The plan is to keep the price unchanged at $10 for as long as the site is online, which we plan on it being for many years to come."
The creator of the site goes on to explain that "the main reason for creating this project was to allow even small businesses who have much lesser budgets for advertising the opportunity to appeal to the masses, without spending a small fortune, and of course being able to raise enough money for tuition."
The idea was thought up and put into motion by a 19 year old college student in New Jersey who plans on using the money raised to pay for college and professional guitar lessons.
