-- As a recognized seafood restaurant in Charleston, The Wreckfish
and its staff know a lot about making its customers happy. Specifically, the restaurant has served up fresh seafood, delicious drinks and a warm, casual atmosphere to make sure patrons always leave with a satisfied hunger and a smile on their face. Through its growth, the venue has formed a unique bond with its local clientele, making it a strong figure in the historic North Charleston area. As a community representative, the restaurant remains dedicated to staying involved and helping local citizens and beyond when in need.
As part of its mission to help deliver exceptional food and give back to the community, The Wreckfish recently participated
as a sponsor for an American Red Cross blood drive held in Charleston, South Carolina. The event, held on July 25th at Northwoods Mall, encouraged locals to come and donate their blood to help save the lives of those in need. As an additional incentive, The Wreckfish cheered on donors and provided free lunch coupons as a reward for their service.
According to an American Red Cross representative, the event was met with incredible success--showcasing just how strongly linked the Charleston community is. The representative reports that, with an overwhelming response, the organization was able to distribute approximately 375 lunch coupons for redemption at The Wreckfish. While many Americans continue to remain apprehensive to donating blood, both The Wreckfish and American Red Cross encourage healthy, eligible individuals to consider what a significant impact an individual can make. For instance, the American Red Cross reports, "If you began donating blood at age 17 and donated every 56 days until you reached 76, you would have donated 48 gallons of blood, potentially helping save more than 1,000 lives!"
In a recent press statement, The Wreckfish comments, "We are proud to have helped participate in the American Red Cross' ongoing effort to save lives and collect blood from valued volunteers. These individuals are doing a great service to the public, as their blood can help save the lives of many patients who are in jeopardy to a wide variety of medical complications. If you have ever thought about giving blood and are eligible, we highly encourage you to support your community by going through with the simple donation process."
Due to the success of this recent event, The Wreckfish looks forward to sponsoring future American Red Cross donations in the Charleston area and encourages all citizens to learn more about the process at the organization's website.
