-- TheFairPages is a unique social media-based search index for conscious consumers and ethical companies, who want to make a FAIR difference. With over 1,000 search categories, it's the conscious consumer's preferred "stop before the shop".
Imagine if the powers of social media like Facebook or Twitter and traditional directories like Yellow Pages were combined to fulfill a greater purpose? This is exactly what TheFairPages is all about: a unique social media-based search index for conscious consumers and companies, who want to make a FAIR difference for people, animals and the environment. http://www.TheFairPages.com
On TheFairPages you find organic clothing, fair trade coffee shops, good causes to support, ethical banks, second-hand stores, eco-tours, holistic health practitioners, eco-friendly car-sharing and much more - with 40 FAIR areas and over 1,000 search categories, TheFairPages is the conscious consumer's preferred "stop before the shop".
Social media for social good(s)
More people are realizing that every time they buy a product, they have the power of change in their hands. People are becoming more aware of the effects that their everyday choices have on their local and global neighbors. - We have created TheFairPages to increase awareness, share information and create demand for products and brands that contribute to a better and more FAIR world, explains founder Liselotte Osterby.
TheFairPages is a global social media-based platform where companies and consumers can join forces to make a difference for a more FAIR world. The site is completely user-ranked. This means that the users decide who get the most awareness in the index, just by following, rating and voting for what they believe is most FAIR to people and planet. Besides that, both users and companies can use the social media features to connect, share and debate about what they believe is most FAIR and sustainable.
A unique online marketing tool
On TheFairPages, ethical companies and organizations can create their own profile and upload their logo and describe how they make a difference. They can also upload their products and services, promote offers and write blog posts. By choosing their FAIR business categories and issues based on many of the already existing standards for sustainability, ethics and corporate responsibility, they can tell consumers how they practice FAIR and sustainable business and market themself in a whole new way.
A tool for consumers to demand a better world
Consumers can find a lot of information about a company, before they make a choice of what to buy. They can vote on what they find most important, rate and follow companies, and find new brands endorsed by other users. They can also display the certificates and labels they look for when shopping. The social media features enable users to engage, include and interact with companies, organizations and consumers, who care just as much about creating a better world as they do.
- For many years I worked in advertising and often wondered how marketing could more actively contribute to sustainable development in the world. One morning I had a vision. I realized that consumers needed a tool for comparing and choosing the truly FAIR-minded products and brands based on the recommendations from other conscious consumers.
It soon became clear to me that also companies should be able to use the platform to market themselves in a new way. The social media features should connect the conscious consumers with ethical brands worldwide and engage them in a global debate about what is most FAIR to people and planet. Only together we can create a better world.
- Founder, Liselotte Osterby
