LAKE OSWEGO, OR - August 18, 2008 — Timbercon, Inc., a fiber optic product and solution manufacturing company, announced today that they have received AS9100B certification after completion of their final audit by TUV Rheinland of North America. This certification demonstrates Timbercon's dedication to quality, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement throughout their company.
Timbercon now holds the AS9100B certification in addition to the ISO 9001:2000 certification that they received in January 2008. The combination of both certifications enables Timbercon to further solidify their commitment to being a valued partner in the avionics, aerospace, military, and medical industries.
The AS9100 certification was developed in 1999 and revised in 2000 to AS9100B. AS9100B has approximately 80 additional requirements and 18 amplifications of ISO's 9001:2000 standard. Although AS9001 was designed directly for the aerospace industry, both the ISO 9001:2000 and AS9100B contain requirements that aim to ensure quality product, process efficiency, on-time delivery, accurate documentation, and enhanced customer satisfaction across multiple industries.
