The Texas Music Coalition (TMC) is now accepting entries for its fourth annual Music Video Showcase.
Since 2007, the Music Video Showcase has attracted artists, filmmakers, and fans from across the state, including Austin's Brother Magnum, Seguin's N DOT C - whose "I Need Love (I Figured It Out)" earned a Director's Award at the 2009 Seguin Film & Arts Festival - and Tejano legends Little Joe Y La Familia. One of 2009's entries, Bugsy's "Hometown" (directed by Bryan Anthony Ramirez), has since won an award in the San Antonio Neighborhood Film Project.
In 2009, the Music Video Showcase introduced an Audience Award for the most popular submission; the first award went to director Maria Fernanda Chavez for her video for the band Panic the Brave. Chavez, a student at the North East School of the Arts (NESA), calls the event "a lot of fun, and a great opportunity for filmmakers. Winning the Audience Award helped me connect with more musicians, and I've been able to work with them on other film projects. So I really appreciate TMC's support in screening my work."
According to TMC Music Video Showcase chair Nikki Young, "this year, we decided to award some cash and other prizes to make things interesting!!" 2 prizes of $50 each, along with a complimentary one-year TMC membership and gift certificates to area businesses, will be awarded to the winners of:
1) Best Video
2) Best Song
Adds Young, "Since voting is open to all attendees, folks are encouraged to invite as many people as possible to vote for their favorites."
Submissions may include all types of recorded performance, such as:
• Professionally produced music videos
• School projects
• Concert footage
• And more
All submissions must be no more than five (5) minutes in length, and may only be submitted on DVD or mini DV. In addition, a representative of each project (musician, filmmaker, etc.) must be present at the event to introduce the project and answer any questions the audience may have.
Submissions may also include a CD with at least one (1) high-resolution (300dpi) promotional picture (this can include pictures of the artist, as well as stills from the video), but this is optional.

Submissions can also be made in person at any upcoming TMC event (please visit TMC's website, http://www.texasmusiccoalition.org, for a complete schedule) or at PrimaDonna Productions, Inc. (located at 8603 Crownhill Blvd., next to the Magic Time Machine).
TMC's 4th annual Music Video Showcase will take place on Tuesday, November 16, from 7pm-10pm at the Alamo Drafthouse Park North (618 NW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78216).
