Northern Italy (including Cinque Terre)
Introduced as a new itinerary last year, the 10-day Northern Italy Including Cinque Terre is great for regular Italy travelers looking to explore cities not included on other itineraries. Starting and ending in Milan, this trip take guests to the heart of each northern city, stopping in Baveno, Genoa, Santa Margherita, La Spezia, Parma, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cinque Terre. This trip has something for everyone, whether a lover of flowers or food. Horticulturists will be happy to stop at the beautiful botanical gardens of Villa Taranto on the way to Baveno, where they'll also enjoy lunch and free time to explore. The north is known for its incredible cuisine and foodies will delight in a trip to the Museum of Prosciutto and the Museo del Parmigiano-Reggiano in Parma. The highlight of the trip, however, is a full-day at picturesque Cinque Terre, where guests will visit two of the hillside villages only accessible by boat or train.
Great Italian Cities
The 11-day Great Italian Cities is the ideal trip for travellers looking for a relaxed-pace journey to three of Italy's favourite cities. Spending 3 nights each in Rome, Florence and Venice, this At Leisure itinerary gives guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in their destination without the rush of several more travel days. After a day of seeing all the major sights in Roma, guests receive a full day of leisure to explore the city on their own, whether it's a visit to one of the city's many museums or just sipping cappuccinos at a cafe and enjoying the Italian lifestyle. Next is Florence, where the group gets a day of sightseeing with a Local Guide, including the multi-colored marble Duomo and Ponte Vecchio. Following an included excursion to Pisa, guests are treated to a Be My Guest dinner at Villa Calcinaia in Greve in Chianti. In beautiful Venice, guests cruise the canals with a local guide before a Small-Group Sightseeing trip through the city's narrow streets.
Grand Italian Experience
For the most extensive Italy experience, travelers can book the 17-day Grand Italian Experience, which starts and ends in historical Rome and spans the country from north to south. Spending 3 nights in Rome, guests skip the lines with their Local Guide at the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, as well as the famous Colosseum. With stops in Sorrento, Assisi, Pompeii and Alberobello, this itinerary also takes guests beyond the major sights and busy areas of the big cities. Once in Sorrento, guests enjoy a cruise to the Isle of Capri where they'll get a walking tour and free time to explore the picturesque island. That night it's back to Sorrento to sit down to a special home cooked Be My Guest dinner at the Esposito family house, which sits amongst a hilltop lemon grove, overlooking the town below. Two nights are spent in Santa Margherita, where guests will have a full day of free time to explore the colorful town on the Italian Riviera as well as a cruise to the renowned resort of Portofino. Other highlights include a guided walking tour of Pompeii's excavation and a stop at the charming medieval city of Siena to see the Piazza del Campo, scene of the annual Palio horse races.
