Side effects of a traumatic brain injury can include severe headaches, problems with memory and concentration, dizziness and blurry vision. However, a recent study conducted by the University of Oklahoma suggests that this is not necessarily the case.
After studying 500 veterans who were injured in Afghanistan or Iraq, researchers found that almost half of those who suffered a
traumatic brain injury on the battlefield still showed symptoms for years afterward. A significant number of patients studied reported feeling the effects of a TBI up to eight years after the original injury.
