SAN FRANCISCO, CA, January 26, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Barg Coffin Lewis & Trapp, LLP partners Joshua A. Bloom and Marc A. Zeppetello have been elected chair and secretary, respectively, of the Executive Committee of the Bar Association of San Francisco's (BASF) Environmental Law Section for 2013.

"It is a firm priority for our members to be active in the community, and Josh and Marc are exemplary examples of this. By giving back and helping lead this important section, they are not only sharing their insights, but also learning from others to the benefit of their colleagues here in the firm and, ultimately, our clients," said R. Morgan Gilhuly, managing partner of Barg Coffin.

The mission of the BASF's Environmental Law Section is to serve and educate both attorneys and the general public about environmental law. Throughout the year, the section presents substantive educational programs, both in person and via webcast, that are eligible for MCLE credit.

Bloom's environmental and natural resources practice involves counseling, litigation and transactional work. Matters have included Proposition 65, negotiating some of the largest brownfields transfers in the nation and Clean Water Act and hazardous waste litigation. Long active with the Environmental Law Section, Bloom was vice-chair in 2011 and treasurer in 2010. He is a graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law (J.D., 1990) and the State University of New York, Albany (M.A., 1982; B.A., 1981).

Zeppetello has extensive experience with counseling and litigation related to federal and state environmental laws, with emphasis on the Clean Water Act, cleanup of contaminated property and cost recovery, hazardous waste management, the Clean Air Act and land use. He has been a member of the Environmental Law Section for more than 20 years, and has served on the executive committee for the past two years. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (J.D., 1985) and the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science & Forestry (B.S., 1977).

Barg Coffin Lewis & Trapp, LLP is a San Francisco-based law firm providing nationally recognized expertise in environmental law and litigation. The firm is based on a simple but sound concept: a small and efficient law firm can provide the environmental law and litigation services that clients need at a lower cost than a large, multi-disciplinary law firm.
