/24-7PressRelease/ - May 20, 2008 - Cynthia Juday has recently unveiled her new website, PetPortraitsbyCJ.com. The site was designed to showcase her original pencil on paper portraits and to allow anyone wishing to commission her to do portraits of their pets the way to do so.

Cynthia Juday is a holistic veterinarian, artist and grief recovery workshop facilitator. She graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. She began studying holistic medicine in the mid-1990s and established her own Integrative Medical Center for Animals in Sarasota, Fl. in 2000. She received her certification in GriefRecovery from the Grief Recovery Institute in 2007 and her certification in the Arts and Healing Program at Ringling College of Art and Design in 2008.

While Cynthia was studying Arts and Healing, she began sketching black and white portraits of some animal photos that interested her. This led to requests from her clients and acquaintances for commissioned portraits of their animals. In her first year of sketching, she presented a sold-out exhibition of her pet portraits. Since then she has continued the portraits in black and white and pastels.

Cynthia named the original exhibition the Soul*Light collection based on her experiences in creating the artwork. She begins each piece with a meditation and connection with the animal's own energetic presence, asking for assistance to express that energy with the art materials chosen for the project. It is this connection with each animal that she credits with the success of her portraits and she is grateful to each of them for sharing the "light of the soul" with her through the artwork.

Reprints of her original series may be purchased in various sizes. Additionally, she accepts commissions for creation of personal portraits created from one's own photos. Potential clients are encouraged to ask her for details such as size, price and desired date of completion. These portraits are treasured as a lifetime memento by those who have had an animal who has already passed, as well as those whose pets are still present in this physical form.
