VALLEY CENTER, CA, November 11, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Valley Center Country Trader Coffeehouse & Shops _http://www.vccountrytrader.com_ will officially open its doors November 28 at 1 p.m. with it's grand opening celebration, the "Country Trader, Country Christmas." The event will be highlighted at 4:30 p.m. by a tree-lighting ceremony that will dazzle guests as nearly 5,000 lights reaching up to the tops of the historic property's 100-foot-tall pines are illuminated, and performers from the Valley Center Community Theater's upcoming production of "A Christmas Story" serenade guests below this breathtaking blanket of twinkling light. The Country Trader, Country Christmas will also feature complimentary specialty-brew coffee samples, door prizes and gifts, exhibits from local artists and crafters, food from Portino's Pizza, Stirrup Fun's petting zoo and more.
"The Country Trader has been designed with our friends and neighbors in mind-first and foremost," says proprietor Susan Guenther, who first came to Valley Center years ago to recover from a serious illness, and has returned with her fiance Jack, who also lived in the town for many years. "We want to bring this historic building to life. Valley Center brought Jack and I together; it is the place where I fought and defeated disease; and it is our home. It is a dream for us to fill this place with the work of local artisans and crafters, bringing in wonderful musicians, entertainers and events, and creating a comfortable, home-like gathering place where the people of Valley Center can come together and feel like family."
Originally constructed in 1943 with hand-made bricks manufactured onsite, the building first served as home to a farm repair business, then later an Indian arts gift shop, real estate offices and antiques dealership. One of the city's oldest standing commercial buildings, the historic venue has recently been restored and retains its original country charm-as well as all of its original beams and many original doors.
The building will soon be hub of activity as the citizens of Valley Center gather for coffeehouse brews and delicious bakery items amid the warm and welcoming atmosphere of The Country Trader.
A treat for all of the senses, customers can expect to be greeted with the wonderful aromas of freshly-brewed coffee and welcomed by the scents and warmth of luxury candles. Plush seating will envelop guests, while ambient music soothes and delectable baked items treat the palate. Also, the cozy shops will be filled to the brim with ever-changing gift, home and garden treasures to purchase or simply enjoy while visiting.
Featuring amenities including intimate private rooms complete with comfortable seating nooks, a full outdoor patio and specialty brew coffee bar featuring a delectable array of customized menu items, the venue will welcome the involvement of local community groups, performers and craftsman.
The Country Trader is also available for company parties, bridal showers, meetings and other events. In addition, especially for residents of Valley Center, a 10 percent discount card will be offered applicable to all purchases at the Country Trader. "This place belongs to the people of Valley Center," says Guenther. "We want to bring the community together in this beautiful space in the heart of the city for an experience that unites and brings us together."
