NEW YORK, NY, September 07, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- For NFL superfans everywhere September 5th doesn't just mean the start of football season. It also means a chance to get off of the sidelines and get into the game itself - the fantasy football game that is. But fantasy football isn't just for the male superfans anymore. According to She-economy and the Fantasy Sports Trade Association, ---
• 43% of women are NFL fans
• 46% of women purchase official NFL merchandise
• 80% of all sport apparel dollars were spent by women
• 34% of ESPN's adult audience are women
• 20% or 5.8 million women played fantasy football in '11-'12
For the past four years All Sports Everything Blogger Shana Renee has conducted an informal pre-season fantasy football how-to in her living room for women. Each year, as interest grows, space at home dwindles. To kick off the 2013 season Shana Renee partnered with local Brooklyn-based production company, Creative Production Partners, and NYC's 40/40 Club to host a bigger, better all-female Clinic & Cocktails Event.
At the Ladies of the League Clinic & Cocktails Event 50 multicultural and professional women attended a private clinic that was equal parts educational, social and sophisticated. Though the focus of the night was certainly fantasy football, guests were also treated to an integration of sports, beauty and fashion. "Women are known for our exceptional multi-tasking skills," says host Shana Renee, "It only made sense to have celebrity makeup artist, Geeta Khanna zhush up ladies with mini-makeovers during the 'tailgating' hour and bring in celebrity fashion stylist Robyn Victoria during halftime to discuss the perfect Game Day look." In the Jay Z Lounge of the 40/40 Club guests enjoyed complimentary beer buckets, signature cocktails, wings, sliders, tacos, dessert and walked away with gift bags filled with goodies from Ladies of the League sponsors Carol's Daughter, Sugarfly Alley, and Very Polished Lounge + Nail Spa.
For host and sports blogger Shana Renee, Ladies of the League has been a long time coming, "Recognizing the interest and passion of my fellow female football fans, I knew I couldn't let another season pass without making this clinic happen."
