BOULDER, CO, January 09, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Waypoint Films Inc., a leading video production company based in Boulder, CO, recently teamed up with Giantleap Industries to create two web spots for client Canvas Solutions Inc., a data collection and sharing platform development company. Canvas CEO, James Quigley, first approached Los Angeles based Giantleap Industries founder Adam Paul, to write and direct the spots and to find an experienced video production team to create something that would really standout online. Paul quickly turned to Waypoint Films for production support.
Production logistics were very challenging as two separate spots depicting the benefits of a paperless workplace had to be shot in one day. An airtight shooting schedule was developed to get both spots, heavy in visual effects, in the can. Director Adam Paul adds, "I wanted Paper Walks the Plank to feel corporate-monochromatic and plain, but Cubicle Contagion had a 70's horror film design scheme. Waypoint scouted the perfect location which could serve both spots, so we got tremendous production value at no additional cost."
Post production spanned from coast-to-coast, with editorial and sound taking place in Los Angeles, visual effects in Denver, and motion graphics in New York. Relying on a completely digital workflow, Giantleap Industries and Waypoint Films were able to deliver a top-quality product on a tight budget by utilizing the talents of a variety of artists in different cities.
Canvas CEOJames Quigley, who also starred in both spots, notes, "At Canvas, we've helped thousands of organizations worldwide to eliminate inefficiencies in the collection and sharing of data, by creatively replacing paper forms with a self-serve mobile app service. While that may sound sexy to us, we wanted to get the message out to a broader audience to reflect our unique vision and culture. Giantleap and Waypoint Films did an awesome job of capturing what we were looking for by creating the kind of video spots that have gotten us noticed in a big way. Our last spot premiered at an international film festival and got the crowd laughing and wanting to know more."
"We loved the creative for these spots and were very excited to be asked to help develop them from script-to-screen. Giantleap's Adam Paul is a very talented writer/director and we had been looking for a project to collaborate on for some time," said Waypoint Film's Producer, Jed Mortenson.
