LOS ANGELES, CA, January 19, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Los Angeles-based Bungalow 42 Productions is in development of the film adaptation of Don O'Melveny's best-selling novel No City for Dreaming, a thrilling story that artfully blends fact with fiction to give a unique take on the details of the last three days of Marilyn Monroe's life from the point of view of a fledgling private detective. The feature is being directed by Drew Ann Rosenberg (Hole in One, Saints & Sinners, 1st AD on L.A. Confidential, Lackawanna Blues) with production beginning this summer.

"No City for Dreaming is an incredibly suspenseful and well-crafted story," says Rosenberg. "Add to that the opportunity to shed light on a huge unsolved mystery, surrounding a goddess of the screen - the prospect of directing seemed like a dream come true for me."

For over fifty years now, Monroe's mysterious death on August 5, 1962 has continued to haunt the American psyche, and has become one of the most debated conspiracy theories in history. Was it an accident or something more? What really happened that fateful night in her Brentwood home? These questions still go unanswered ... until now.

No City for Dreaming is co-written by O'Melveny (The Last Year in the Life of Marilyn Monroe) and Michael Engel (Nightforce) and produced by Stephen Kerr and Nina Boski. David Silva (Thirteen Days, Message in a Bottle, Green Hornet) will serve as Line Producer and Jennifer Goldstein (Mysterious Skin) is casting.

What people have said about No City for Dreaming:
