With 25 years of experience as the president of Biscuit King Restaurants and Cathy's Homemade Biscuits, Ms. Dunn manages the day-to-day operations of the business. In addition to baking her signature biscuits, she runs the operations of three restaurants and a biscuit company. Ms. Dunn sells her homemade biscuits to retail and grocery stores in North Carolina. She is separated from her peers by the fact that she has developed a healthy biscuit, which is all natural and contains low sodium and zero trans-fats. Developing this formula has been her greatest career achievement to date. She became involved in her profession because her late husband was in the restaurant business, and when he retired, they opened up their first fast food restaurant, selling homemade biscuits, hamburgers and hot dogs.
Ms. Dunn is an elected commissioner of Lexington, and a Davidson County Commissioner of the Crime Stoppers Board. In recognition for her success as a small business owner, she was presented with a Small Business Person of the Year Award for Outstanding Board Member Workforce in 2008. In years to come, Ms. Dunn hopes to continue in the restaurant business and sell her biscuits, and expand the area in which they are sold.
