/Worldwide Who's Who/ -- Cynthia R. Ronzio, Ph.D., Assistant Professor for Children's National Medical Center, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in Pediatrics. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.
Interested in social epidemiology and teaching applied research, Dr. Ronzio entered the health care profession as an assistant professor at Children's National and the George Washington University Medical Center. Honing her skills and knowledge for the past 12 years, she has become an expert in postpartum depression care, and establishing family and social research for pediatric pain. Currently in the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation at the Children's National Medical Center, Dr. Ronzio is tasked with researching, designing research protocols, developing educational programs, and mentoring, teaching and advising students. Aside from her work at The Children's National Medical Center, she has joint appointments in the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Pediatrics at George Washington University, and has authored 22 peer-reviewed publications focused on maternal and child health, health policy and health disparities.
Prior to joining the Children's National Medical Center, Dr. Ronzio was a post-doc at the National Center for Health Statistics, where she earned the Carl W. Tyler Award for Excellence in Public Health Practice.
Dr. Ronzio earned her Ph.D. in Health Policy at Johns Hopkins University, her Master of Education at George Washington University and Bachelor of Arts at The Evergreen State College.
She attributes her success to her natural curiosity, love of healing, and her colleagues. In the coming years, Dr. Ronzio aspires to continue advancing in her field and expanding her research and knowledge of the industry.
