P. Marie (Maria) Salas Trains Other Educators to Establish More Effective Strategies and Execute Them

Dallas, TX, December 12, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- P. Marie (Maria) Salas, president, chief executive officer for Training Trainers International, LLC, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Executive of the Year in Professional Training & Coaching. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline is chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

Ms. Salas became involved in her profession through her background in education, training, and industry. She has 20 years of experience as president, chief executive officer of Training Trainers International both in Canada (Inc.) and recently in the U.S. as an LLC. Her Instructional Skills (ISW) and Facilitator Development (FDW) workshops were developed in Canada by ISW International and introduced at the University of British Columbia in 1992. Since then the ISW and FDW have been recognized as a standard for teaching and training programs worldwide. Using her expert facilitation skills and the ISW principles, Ms. Salas trains subject-matter experts and teachers to be more effective, helping them grow from mediocrity to brilliance in the classroom. Such training not only benefits these participants but also the students they teach on a daily basis.

She attributes her success to hard work, tenacity, vision, and ability to establish executable strategies. She also credits the amazing teams with whom she has worked. She feels strongly about following up with people to establish whether the training she has done has been transferred to the workplace. A highlight of her career was teaching in the Middle East for nine years where she mentored college instructors to create more effective teaching strategies. She also served as a Teaching and Learning Centre coordinator for a faculty of 450+ instructors.

Ms. Salas received a Master of Education (literacy specialization) in 2006 from Mount Saint Vincent University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, which she received in 1979 from Memorial University of Newfoundland; and a Bachelor of Education in secondary school methods, earned the same year at the Memorial University of Newfoundland.

In addition, Ms. Salas holds certificates from the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution, Insideout Coaching, the Center for Appreciative Inquiry, Toastmasters International, the Police Society for Problem-Based Learning, Dale Carnegie and International TESOL.

Currently, she is a member of the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce, ISW International, the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), Training Industry.com, TESOL International, and the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI).

She received a citation for her contribution as a national training coordinator for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. She was also distinguished with an award for volunteer work by USO, Inc. Ms. Salas was an active member of the Family program at Camp Asalayiah in Doha, Qatar during which time she hosted 140+ U.S. soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan who were on R&R in Qatar.
