Sherry L. Murvine Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Hospice Care

Ms. Murvine has 35 years of experience in the health care industry and specializes in end-of-life care. She has worked in the hospice arena since 2006, and is deeply committed to high quality hospice care. Sherry has a strong desire to build collaborative relationships and bring a positive influence to the hospice industry. In the past year serving as program director, she has taken on the responsibility of overseeing the overall management and direction of the Compassionate Care Hospice office in Ohio. She strives to create an open, dynamic environment that is conducive to team functioning. She also monitors service utilization and business operations to ensure the delivery of comprehensive care that stems from financial stability.

In addition, Ms. Murvine conducts program planning and prepares the annual budget. She participates in the evaluation of programs, services and personnel using measurable outcomes and objectives, and ensures compliance with legal, regulatory and accreditation standards. High standards of ethical business and clinical practices are always maintained while adhering to the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Plan (QAPI). Ms. Murvine believes it is a privilege to provide end-of-life care to patients and their families. Her philosophy on hospice is 'since hospice is the last agency the patient is choosing to work with while they are alive, I want to ensure their last days are lived with fullness of life and dignity.' Sherry takes on leadership positions with enthusiasm and skill. Ms. Murvine attributes her success to her self-drive, determination, and her ability to be flexible and open-minded. While volunteering as a candy striper, she realized her passion for helping people. She became involved in the nursing profession because she enjoyed the interaction with patients while volunteering as a candy striper. Sherry feels that one of her greatest career accomplishments includes having her research article entitled "Does the Patient's Perception of Anger and Anxiety Decrease with the use of the Sereneview Scenic Curtain During Out-patient Chemotherapy Treatment" in the 2007 Nursing Oncology Forum.

Ms. Murvine received her Master of Science in Nursing and Health Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2009 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Malone University. She is a member of the Mid-West Care Alliance, the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary - Summit County Sheriff Office and the Sigma Theta Tau national honor society of nursing. In the future, Ms. Murvine hopes to step up to a regional director position and branch out in Ohio to start another satellite office.
