LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA, October 10, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/
-- Jennifer J. Wilhoit. Ph.D., owner and mentor of TEALarbor stories, was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.
When Dr. Wilhoit was 12 years old, her English teacher assigned the class a 20-page writing assignment. While overwhelmed at first, she soon realized how naturally nonfiction stories came to her. From that moment on, Jennifer has honed her writing ability, combining it with her lifelong passion for the natural world, to excel as an author and mentor. With 20 years of industry experience, Dr. Wilhoit currently serves as the owner of TEALarbor stories, which provides writing mentor services as well as nature and story guiding. The focus of the company is to support people who want to discover and convey their stories through writing.
As the owner of the company, Dr. Wilhoit is responsible for mentoring writers; facilitating soulful experiences in natural environments for those who want to connect more deeply with their individual natures; and managing all business functions for the company including marketing, advertising, budgets and bookkeeping, communications, facilitation and program creation.
Dr. Wilhoit has published books and articles that are inspired by her professional and personal experiences in the natural environment. Her passion lies in exploring inner and outer landscapes. Inner landscapes include a person's internal experiences such as emotions, thoughts, meaning-making, or spiritual conviction; outer landscapes are the tangible things out in nature (e.g. flora, fauna, biomes, terrain, weather). Jennifer is intrigued with and writes about the intersection of inner and outer landscapes. She includes these ideas of beauty and pain, shadow and light, as well as grief, loss and recovery into her mentoring work, too.
Accomplished in her field, Dr. Wilhoit attributes her success to drive and motivation, compassion, education and practical experience, as well as her enthusiasm for mentoring others. For more than 34 years, Jennifer has been engaged in community service, the last eleven of which she has served primarily in the capacity of hospice volunteer. This lifelong commitment to serving her community has enhanced Dr. Wilhoit's ability to connect deeply and empathetically with TEALarbor stories clients.
Dr. Wilhoit earned her Ph.D. in Environmental Studies at Antioch University New England, and her M.A. in Education and B.A. in Liberal Arts at Antioch University Seattle. She also studied Special Education and Spanish at the University of Northern Colorado. In five years, Dr. Wilhoit hopes to have a business that is equally balanced between mentoring, writing, and nature guiding. She also plans to add books and articles to her growing list of publications.
